Are You Ready For The New LinkedIn Experience? LinkedIn Stories, Video Calls & More In Store For You!

Currently, available for select users, LinkedIn has rolled out a completely new experience for its users.

By now, I have noticed a ton of changes, including a better UI and an improved search experience. Take a look:

LinkedIn’s New Look Update

LinkedIn announced its new features in its blog post. People will be able to start a video call via Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or BlueJeans directly from their LinkedIn messages. People can easily switch from the chat to a video call if they want. There will be a video call option beside the text box that people can use to initiate a call. They aim to enhance the user experience while keeping the usability aspects in mind. People will be allowed to choose from the available apps for video calls, share a link, or even schedule a meeting.

The feature that I love is the option to edit and delete messages. Finally, LinkedIn has jumped on the bandwagon. Now, you can edit a sent message and delete it if you want. You can react to a message with emoticons, select multiple conversations to archive, mark (read/unread) and delete. You can have a new person join an existing discussion between two people and keep the older conversation private as well.

Excerpt from the LinkedIn Blog

“This new LinkedIn experience is warmer and embodies our diverse, inclusive, and trusted community. It is also simpler, more modern, and more intuitive, allowing for easier navigation and discovery.”

LinkedIn Stories

This is the one we all have been waiting for, isn’t it?

LinkedIn is finally going to introduce the LinkedIn Stories feature, which, similar to other platforms, will allow users to share their professional life bits, without worrying that it would become a part of their profile. The LinkedIn stories will last only for 24 hours. Currently, this feature will be rolling out in the following locations:

  • Australia
  • Brazil
  • Canada
  • France
  • Netherlands
  • UAE
  • USA

Once they see the initial feedback from the users and demand, they will roll it out globally. So if you are in India, you can expect to experience this feature within the next three months.

How To Use LinkedIn Stories?

LinkedIn Stories

It is pretty easy to post a story. All you have to do is touch the circle with your display picture (similar to Instagram) and hit the plus icon on the top-left corner. It will open the camera, and then you can click an image or record a short video directly from the app. You can upload a photo or video from your phone gallery as well. The video can be up to 20 seconds. There are many text and stickers and stuff to make your picture or video more appealing. You can tag users too!

What’s to come? There will be a dark mode and some new illustrations.

What do you think about the new LinkedIn look and feel? Let me know in the comments!
