There have been some exciting developments in the last few months in the world of social media. Facebook updated its parent brand to Meta to match the brand’s metaverse.

Anyway, in this post, I wanted to discuss some cool features and updates that happened recently in the world of social media.

1. Twitter Now Allows Tips

They launched the Tip Jar feature around the summer that allowed users to send tips to each other. However, these features were only available for some select content creators on the platform. But now, it is available for everyone in the Twitterverse.

They even added new payment alternatives like Bitcoin and GoFundMe. So, if you are a content creator with many portfolios or pages on sites like Patreon or Venmo, you can now link it with Twitter and get tips directly via the platform. No more sharing links in bios and tweets!

The inclusion of Bitcoin via Strike is a significant change for many. On top of that, GoFundMe’s addition to the mix has made receiving instant and free payments across the globe extremely easy.

Twitter said that they wanted their users to have access to multiple pathways to get paid. They want to make it easy for people to exchange digital currencies for helping the economy and sending money across the borders without hassle.

2. Facebook Free and Paid Tools For Business

With more and more businesses setting up shop on Facebook, the company is offering a new set of free and paid tools for businesses to help them reach out to more people and generate genuine leads. People can start conversations directly from the ads via Messenger, IG direct, or even WhatsApp.

Now, you can click on an ad and start a conversation via WhatsApp chat from an Instagram profile.

Quote Request Feature

I love this one! You can use this feature to select 4 or 5 questions that you want your customers to answer before redirecting them to a live person for a chat. In addition, it allows businesses to have only hot leads and provide a genuine quote to users based on their requirements.

Generating Leads via Instagram

Facebook has started testing paid and organic tools to help businesses reach out to potential leads without spending tons of ad money.

3. YouTube Adds Cool New Features for Content Creators

If you are a YouTube content creator, you will love some of these new features added by the brand to provide you with more insights and control over the ads.

Evergreen video insights

These are the videos that have done the trick for you in the past and are still popular now. As a content creator, you will now get access to insights for these videos and improve your channel performance by analyzing those insights.

Hashtags

Now, you get to experience the trending hashtag feature that will help you identify what’s trending in the YouTube world. It will help you plan content for your future videos.

Controls To Block AdSense

While this doesn’t seem much of a change, this was only available to users under the YouTube Partner Program. Now, it is available for you.

Bulk Video Chapter Editing

This feature allows the automatic creation of chapters for newly added videos. This is auto-opted, but you can opt-out of it.

Appeal Yellow Icon

It is available on YouTube Studio Mobile. For example, you can see a yellow icon beside a video that is making less money or no money. Now users will be able to appeal to them via the Studio Mobile app on Desktop.
